Get some cull-chah
Cindee, Kelly and I ventured out in the rain Saturday to the David Zwirner gallery in Chelsea for a showing of one of Cindee's favorite artists, Marcel Dzama. The exhibit, entitled "The Course of Human History Personified," was predominated by watercolor and ink drawings based on Dante's Divine Comedy. The paintings contained repetitive images of dismemberment, suicide and masterbation next to pleasantly contented onlookers under bowers of roses and bird-filled branches. Just the way of the world I guess. Also on display were the artist's notebooks (I love a good doodle) and about a half-dozen oddly whismical sculptures.Culture quota satisfied, the three of us retired to Half King for repast and deconstruction.
