Around 10 o'clock this morning, someone tripped the fire alarm in the office building where I work. The sound was deafening enough to force a retreat outside, though we were fairly confident it was a false alarm. Heading down the stairs, I thought of the scene in The Office in which David and Chris (?) carry Brenda, in her wheelchair, down one flight of stairs, and then leave her on the landing because it's "just a drill."

We all waited on the sidewalk outside The Old Beehive until the JCFD determined it was safe to return. DM inhabits the top two floors of the four-story building. Doctor's offices and a bank occupy the first and second floors. We were the only office to evacuate. At DM, safety is job one.
