One can walk from W. 46th Street to W. 50th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues via public plazas between buildings. I love this "trick" for its crowds-of-tourists-avoiding possibilities. One day, I'll show you how to walk from W. 44th Street to W. 49th Street between Broadway and 8th Avenue while avoiding the rain (as well as the crowds of tourists).
